Young Author Conferences

Melissa Forney is an author and storyteller. She frequently visits schools for young authors’ celebrations or to present school-wide assemblies. Her presentations are humorous, engaging, and inspire children to become involved in their own writing. She uses props, literature, poetry, and a special LCD projector and ends each session by telling an original story.

A typical day might include:

30-minute presentation for Kindergarten
45-minute presentation for First and Second Grades
55-minute presentation for Third and Fourth Grades
55-minute presentation for Fifth and Sixth Grades

Sometimes schools sponsor special “Melissa Forney Pizza Blasts” for students who have shown an outstanding interest in writing. She also is willing to teach a masters class for a few select advanced writers.
Melissa is a popular speaker and is almost always invited back for repeat engagements. Her fee for a day with children is $1500 plus her travel and hotel.
