Combine fun with classroom learning!
- “As we read through our Race Around Florida clues,
we kept a list of all the foods that were mentioned. We decided
that after Florida Writes we would celebrate finishing all those writing
assignments by having a FEAST! And feast we
did! Because of our awesome room mom, we were able to try Cuban sandwiches,
cheese grits, black eyed peas, SPAM,
boiled peanuts, YooHoo, crab cakes, fried plantains,
guacamole dip and chips, strawberries, mango, guava,
pecan pie, key lime pie, and of course, Florida orange juice.
Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to not only
enhance our writing skills, but also to enrich our knowledge
of our great state of Florida. We had a ball!”
—Kristen Tame, Bear Lake Elementary, Orlando
