Generation to Generation

Tallulah's dedication.jpg

Our lovely little granddaughter, Tallulah Elissabeth Rossi, was dedicated last Sunday. The dress she is wearing was worn by her great, great grandmother in the hills of Kentucky over 100 years ago.

The dress is not terribly ornate, as my people were simple folk from the hills, but it is a dear thought to know that this dress has been passed down from generation to generation. Here, Tallulah is being held by my mother and her brother. It is their mother, Ruby Winfrey, who first wore the dress in 1906. Family means everything to me, and this was a special day, indeed. Hold on to those you love. Hold on to special things that evoke family memories.
